A Model-Based Approach on Improving Pellet Operations

Simulation is a powerful tool for improvements and optimization in the process industry. This presentation will show a customer case where simulation was used for a lot of different purposes with good results. The project presented was about optimizing the production of pellets in LKABs pelletizing plant in Malmberget. A first order principle model was made of the whole pelletizing process and used for experiments and evaluation of different solutions to iron out bottleneck problems and optimize the production in the plant.
